Taking non-UTA Courses for Transfer Credit

To ensure adequate coverage of needed material, once enrolled at U.T. Arlington as an engineering major, a student must obtain written permission from the department before enrolling in courses intended to be transferred to U.T. Arlington for credit toward a U.T. Arlington engineering degree.

Transfer credit that constitutes a part of a continuing course sequence in the same area will be validated only upon satisfactory completion of the succeeding course in the sequence at U.T. Arlington. Students whose performance in the subsequent courses at U.T. Arlington is poor may be required to repeat courses taken elsewhere.

Only equivalent courses in a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or those freshman and sophomore courses accepted by the College of Engineering or the student's major department can be counted toward an engineering degree.
