analysis, design, manufacturing and testing of advanced composites; failure characterization, fatigue and fracture, non-destructive evaluation;
Background:
Dr. Tan’s area of expertise in advanced composite structures includes analysis, design, manufacturing and testing. This includes strength testing, non-evaluation techniques, elastic tailoring and familiarity with various ASTM standards for advanced composites. Prior to joining UT Arlington in 2009, she was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She has experience leading the Composites Laboratory in the School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her current research focus is on composite structures lifecycle management.
