Ratan Kumar, Ph.D.

Education: Ph.D. University of Florida, 1992 ~ M.S. University of Florida, 1989 ~ B.S.M.E. Jadavpur University, 1984

Areas of Expertise: Computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer; FEA for structures; machine design; Web-based education.

Background: Dr. Kumar has conducted research in numerical and analytical analysis for fluid flow and heat transfer under high-temperature and corrosive environment. He had prior teaching experience as a faculty at the University of North Texas, Denton. His consulting experience has been with various power plants, automotive and electronics industry. He has published and received grants in thermal/fluid analysis as well as in engineering education. He actively participates in professional societies and is a current member of ASME and ASEE.
