Roger Goolsby, Ph.D., P.E.
Professor and M.E. Graduate Advisor

Education: Ph.D. University of California,
Berkeley, 1971 ~ M.S. University of California Berkeley, 1968 ~ B.S.M.E. UT Arlington, 1967

Areas of Expertise: Mechanical metallurgy, polymers, composite materials, fracture mechanics, fatigue, deformation processes, and failure analysis of materials.

Background: Prior to joining UTA, Dr.Goolsby had industrial experience in fracture mechanics, fatigue, and stress corrosion cracking of aerospace materials with LTV Corporation's Advanced Technology Center. He also worked in similar mechanical properties areas with metals, polymers, and composite materials at Shell Development Corporation. Since joining UTA, Dr. Goolsby has been involved in the following materials research areas: fracture and fatigue of metal matrix composites, thermoplastics, polymeric composites, and metals; high rate fracture of materials; and the structure/mechanical property relationships in materials.
