Distance Education
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
offers graduate degrees in mechanical engineering and in aerospace
engineering via the Engineering Center for Distance Education (ECDE).
The Master of Science Degree requires 24 hours of course work and
6 hours of credit for thesis research. The Master of Engineering
degree requires 36 hours of course work, of which 6 hours may be
special project courses.
The ECDE offers streaming video to students enrolling in Distance
Education Courses.
Students must understand that their computers
must have certain hardware and software in order to view the
classes online. Students using this delivery method may view the
courses
on the Internet at their convenience. However, they will be on
the same schedule as the on-campus students and may be required
to come to campus to take the exams during regular class times.
Faculty members have office hours for telephone consultation and
use email for other correspondence.
To properly view the streaming video courses, you will need a
computer with these minimum standards:
-
Processor operating at 400 Mhz or higher
-
DSL/cable modum internet connection capable of 256 kbps sustained
data rate

the access of the video player.
